The short version
- This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, adverts, tracking, sign-ups or forms. Everything on it, including the fonts and pictures, comes from our own site.
- Our host, Cloudflare, sees visitors' IP addresses so it can deliver the pages, and keeps security logs. We don't use them to identify anyone.
- If you email us, we use your message only to reply and to deal with what you asked.
- Pebble the Pangolin has its own privacy policy for its app and website, at pebblethepangolin.com/privacy.

Visiting this website
This website has no cookies, no analytics, no adverts, no tracking pixels, no sign-ups and no forms, and it stores nothing in your browser. It loads no fonts, scripts or embeds from other companies, so visiting it only connects you to matemmedia.com. That's why there is no cookie banner.
Our host, Cloudflare
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. When you visit, your device's IP address and the usual technical details of a web request (such as the page asked for, the time, and your browser type) pass through Cloudflare so it can deliver the page and protect the site from attacks. Cloudflare may keep this in its own security logs, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. Cloudflare does not publish a fixed period for these logs.
We do not download or keep these logs, and we don't use them to identify anyone, build profiles or track activity. Our Cloudflare dashboard mostly shows totals, such as how many visits the site had in a day. If Cloudflare blocks a suspicious request, it may show us details of that request, such as its IP address and the page asked for. We use these only to keep the site safe. Cloudflare runs a worldwide network, so a request may be handled in a data centre outside the UK. You can read Cloudflare's privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
Links to other sites
Links to pebblethepangolin.com, YouTube and Instagram are plain links. Nothing from YouTube, Instagram or any other site loads on this site. If you follow a link to another site, that site's own privacy policy applies there.
When you email us
If you email info@matemmedia.com or another Matem Media address, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and what you write. We use it only to reply to you and to deal with what you asked. We don't add you to a mailing list, and we don't share your email with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Our emails are handled by Microsoft (Microsoft Exchange Online). Microsoft stores and handles these emails for us as our processor, under its data protection terms with us. Our mailbox is stored in the UK, but Microsoft and the companies it works with may process emails in other countries, including the United States. When they do, Microsoft uses safeguards approved under UK data protection law.
We keep a general enquiry for up to 12 months after the conversation ends, so we can follow up if needed, and then delete it. If an email is part of business we do with you, such as an order, a contract or an invoice, we keep it for as long as the law requires us to keep company records.
Children
This website is for adults: parents, partners, press and anyone doing business with us. We never ask children for their details. If we think a child has written to us, we send one reply, addressed to their grown-up, and then delete their email, our reply and the address.
Why we can use this information
We handle the small amount of information above because we have a legitimate interest in running a safe, working website and in replying to people who write to us. Where an email is part of a contract with you, we use it to carry out that contract, and we keep records where the law requires it. We never sell information, and we never use it for advertising.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of any information we hold about you (for example, an email you sent), ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email info@matemmedia.com and we'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk (opens in a new tab).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If we ever wanted to collect more information, we would change the site first and say so clearly here.
